Property inherited jointly, since inheriting we have gained planning permission for a plot in part of the garden. Question is, if the house and plot are sold separately would CGT be applied? Property was inherited all tax paid and we have the probate value. Currently, selling separately or as a whole would not take the value over the probate value due to slowdown in market. Any advice please?!

Hi mazmad,
If sold for less than probate value then no gain would be made and no CGT would be due.
Thank you.
