Hi there, I came to the UK and became a UK tax resident in July 2022. I sold my house back in my home in Hong Kong in Sep 2022 and that house has always been my main residence. I understand I do not need to pay tax with the capital gain with my situation. But, do i need to declare that when i do my self assessment? Or i should simply skip reporting that? Many thanks.

Hi nick lim,
You do not need to declare this as this was your main home.
Thank you.
