I don’t usually complete a self assessment but need to pay capital gains tax on my property which was sold last week. I rang HMRC and was advised to pay it by going to the section which says to report and pay capital gains. I did this but you can only use this if you are organisation paying for an estate or Trust. HMRC can’t assist. How does an individual pay capital gains tax?

Hi Claire75 James,
Please refer to:
Tax when you sell property
Tax when you sell your home
For information on paying and tax that may be due.
If you need to pay you should click the link report and pay any Capital Gains Tax.
Thank you.
