I have been asked by prospective client this situation: HK resident moved to UK in Jan 21 working here under PAYE through a BNO Working Visa (I think they are valid 5 years). Sold HK Property Oct 22 which was never rented out, Bought UK Property April 23. Working Visa non Res UK. any CGT on Sale ? - I think there could be but need second opinions Many thanks

Yes, Capital Gains Tax would be due as the property as not been his main residence for the whole period of ownership:
