Hello, I inherited a share in a flat in Belgium and had to pay inheritance tax to the Belgian tax authorities on this 25% share of the flat. The flat has been sold by all the heirs last year. Can I deduct this inheritance tax paid to Belgium when I calculate the acquisition value? If so, it will reduce the CGT to be paid to HMRC. Thank you for your advice.

Hi,
No. You can only offset any Capital Gains Tax paid in Belgium against any potential UK liability.
Thank you.
