We have just sold our French property. There was no Capital Gain and the property has only been used by ourselves. Do we still need to advise HMRC? If so, how do we do it? I can't seem to find anything that says we don't need to report it but I don't want to 'assume' we don't need to do anything and then get a fine! Many thanks.

Hi French Question,
Please see:
Capital Gains Tax: what you pay it on, rates and allowances
And Section – If your gains are less than your tax-free allowance which confirms when you need to report it.
Thank you.
