Hello, I am an Irish born (Rep. of Ireland) citizen but currently deemed domicile in the uk, having worked there for over 15yrs. I have since returned to Rep of Ireland, so now a non uk resident where i plan to remain through to retirement. My question is if i sell my Irish property (that i had prior to moving to the UK) as a non uk resident am i liable to any UK capital gains tax. Similar query with regard to inheritance tax (on irish assets)if i were to receive any. From looking at various sites i think the answer is no once i remain in Ireland. Thank you.

Hi CuriousP,
HMRC cannot comment on future events as legislation may change. based on current guidance, if sold when you are not a UK resident then no.
Thank you.
