Hi All As the title says, the company I work for is based in the UK. We sell worldwide. One of our customers (in America) requires some items urgently which we don't have stock of. We will be placing an order with our supplier in China however our American Customer would like to collect them direct from our supplier in China. From a paper work side of things, there's not much I need to do as the customer will be arranging all that, we'll sell it to them on an Ex-Works basis, however, what are the VAT and Duty implications? We would usually pay VAT and Duty when these are imported to the UK but we're not importing them this time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

As these goods never enter the UK, then the supply is outside the scope of VAT and there are no VAT or duty implications in the UK.

As the goods are being exported to USA, there would likely be import tax implications once they reach the border.

Thank you.
