Good morning, I wonder is someone receiving error CDS40011 on pre-lodged declarations this morning? It is not quite clear what is causing the error and I hope to find someone who has found workaround.

Hi newtocustoms, I got an email this morning with the below information, hopefully this will help you! CDS DECLARATION ISSUE – ERROR CDS40011 Please see below we have been advised of technical difficulties in relation to the exchange rates which is causing declarations to be rejected. Following this we would recommend following the advice and changing the invoice currency to GBP using the HMRC monthly rate of exchange which can be found here : https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/exchange_rates/view/2024-2?type=monthly We’re aware of technical difficulties with an overnight update to exchange rates within the CDS system. We are working urgently to resolve this. Until the fix is implemented, customers can resubmit their declaration using GBP (Great British Pounds). We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Full details of all of HMRC’s systems are available on our service availability page, which is regularly updated - https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/hm-revenue-and-customs-service-availability-and-issues We would encourage you to refer back to this page before embarking on any journey.

Hi,

There were some known issues with CDS last week which have been resolved now. If you are still getting CDS error codes on declaration, you can report it here:

Report a problem using the Customs Declaration Service

Thank you.
