For a foreigner travelling to the UK, can I bring 5 litres of Korean rice wine (alcohol content: 9%) for personal use (for myself and for friends' gifts)? The total number of bottles would be around 10 bottles, 375ml per bottle (half the wine size). I've read the following link but I'd like to make sure that this is confirmed by HMRC. I would appreciate if this quantity falls within the personal allowance limits for alcohol under 22%. https://www.gov.uk/bringing-goods-into-uk-personal-use/arriving-in-Great-Britain

Hi ,

How much you can bring depends on the type of alcohol.

You can bring in wine (still) - 18 litres and if you go above the allowance and bring in 19 litres of wine,
you must pay tax and duty on all of it because you have gone over your 18 litre allowance for wine.

Thank you .
