So, I bought a load of stuff on Aliexpress. Lots of little items, and paid VAT on it at checkout in the normal way. Aliexpress consolidated the items into one shipment, with a total value of just over £135. Border Force charged me import duty (fair enough), and VAT for a second time. Who do I go talking to to get the secondary VAT payment back? Presumably Border Force, but I'm unsure. How does one go about this?

Hi,

If the goods are from overseas then UK import VAT will be due on these goods over a value of £135.

I would recommend contacting our Customs and International Trade Team to see if and how you could request a repayment of this money.

Thank you .
