I am a full-time student here in the UK, and am receiving a shipment of second-hand goods (mostly clothes) from the EU. I suspect that there was an error in the customs declaration form, and that the amount was set at €200. If I fill in and submit the BOR286 form, is there a good chance that I can get a refund on the customs duty and VAT?

Hi ,

Please send all the relevant information with your claim form and you will get an outcome by the case working team.
Use form BOR286 if you believe the Customs Duty or import VAT was wrongly calculated on an item you imported
by post using Royal Mail or Parcelforce.

See :  Report incorrect Customs Duty or VAT on items imported by post (BOR286)   .

Use form C285 if you believe the Customs Duty or import VAT was wrongly calculated on an item you imported
by post using any other courier.

See:  How to claim a repayment of import duty and VAT if you've overpaid  .

Thank you .
