Hi, we are planning to send machine valves to Germany for repair under the Outward Processing procedure. Does the importer in Germany have to use Inward Processing since it will be a temporary import? They keep asking to send it under FCA incoterms. Could someone please help me to understand the process after the shipment leaves the UK? Thank you,

Hi Koops85 No the importer in Germany does not have to use inward processing . It is an option they can use but ultimately it is the importers choice. The UK and EU schemes are separate and not dependent on each other. What is declared to HMRC at export and to German Customs at import are entirely separate.
