I would be grateful for help that was accessible to a lay person. I have looked through the forums and find the answers very difficult to understand. I have a buy to let in Scotland. I am civil partnered. I own the property outright - no mortgage. It is in my name only. I want to give my partner the whole income. What do I need to do (in simple steps and language please) to do this such as it is acceptable to the HMRC. Thank you in advance.

Hi ,

Thank you for your question.

If you want to give the beneficial interest over to your partner then you will need to have a deed of assignment drawn up.

You can draw up your own deed of assignment or this can be done through a qualified solicitor.

Thank you .
