I understand that when you let a single property, the property business is deemed to have ceased when the last property is sold. If the property is empty while you are selling, but you then decide not to sell and instead re-let (continuing the business) - are the expenses incurred during the void period allowable?

Hi ,

Thank you for your question.

If the expenses incurred are wholly and exclusively incurred in relation to the property business then they can be claimed.

Thank you .
