Hi, I become UK tax resident on 2021/22 tax year. I am non domincile. Since then I file the tax in remittance basis and no money being brought to UK. I would like to remit the money that I claimed remittance basis in past 3 tax years (2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24) now in 2024/25, do I entitle of personal income allowance for 2024/25 tax year only or past 3 years too? As no more remitance basis in 2025/26 tax year, all foreign income will be taxed but in lower rate. Does that lower rate apply only to 2025/26 income or also previous years foreign income?

Hi ,

You would only be entitled to personal allowances in 2024 to 2025, provided you did not claim the remittance basis in any way.

This means that you have to declare all of your world-wide income arising in the tax year plus your remitted income .

Thank you .
