Can an estate claim for the property allowance?

Can an estate claim the £1,000 property allowance against rental income received during the period of estate administration? If so, if the gross income is within the property allowance would this still need to be reported to HMRC?

Hi Tony Wilkinson,
PIM4410 of our property guidance advice allows individuals to claim the property income allowance provided its not in the period of administration.  Plesae see HS282 for full guidance.
