I am receiving foreign property rental income from another EU country with a Jan-Dec tax year. I’ve paid tax in that country for Jan-Dec 2022. For my 2022-2023 self assessment return to HMRC, can I just file income and tax figures for 2022 for the purpose of claiming relief? Or do I also need to estimate figures for Jan-Mar 2023? It’s my first year in this situation so any advice would be appreciated - I am sure it is a common scenario…

Hi,

Just use the figures you already have and that way your years are classed as the same.

Thank you.
