Hi I am resident and a citizen of Lebanon. I am currently in the process of completing my UK self assessment as I have a UK property that I receive rental income on. I am registered to receive my rent gross under the NRL scheme. My question is.... I am entitled to the UK personal allowance of £12,570 per year. I could not see any tax treaties between the UK and Lebanon, indicating I would not be entitled to a personal allowance. I do not, Hold a British passport Am a citizen of an EEA country Worked for the UK government at any time during that tax year Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

There is currently no comprehensive Double Taxation Agreement between the Lebabaon and the United Kingdom. The conditions for entitlement to UK personal allowances are set out in form SA109 which you will complete when filing your Self Assessment return.

Residence, remittance basis etc notes

Thank you.
