Hi, Before I moved to the UK, my parents donated some ownership of a property in overseas to me in many years ago. That property is rented out, but all the income goes to my parents, as they are the ones who manage it. The rental income is paid directly to them, and I do not receive any of it. I read some post, just want to confirm in this situation, I should complete a legal declaration of trust and anything else?

Hi,
As you are not in receipt of any rental income from your overseas rental property, Self Assessment tax returns would not be required. If this changes, then returns would need to be submitted.  We would advise you to complete a legal declaration deed/trust and have witnesses sign the document. You can see guidance here:
PIM4702 - Rent from property outside the UK: Income Tax (IT)
Thank you.
