Hi, I am a non-resident landlord, and only have a property in UK and no other income. The property was purchased in February 2023. I have let out my property in late March 2023, but only received the first rent payment on 4th of April 2023. Should I report this income in 2023/2024 tax year ? If so, without any UK income, do you still to complete a self assessment form for 2022/2023 tax year ? Thanks, Tony.

Hi,
Yes you will be best advised to complete a 2022/23 tax return to account for the single payment/rent less costs as they fell in the tax year 2022/23.
Thankyou.
