Hi Stephanie Duprat,
For a joint bank account, you can only claim half and the payments need to be made under gift aid to qualify for relief :
Tax relief when you donate to a charity Skip to contents of guide Contents
Thank you.

In addition - If the gift aid is registered with the charity in my husbands name but the gift is from our joint account can I still deduct half on my self assessment or does it all need to go on his? Many thanks

Hi,

It will need to be in your husband's name as the Gift Aid is registered under his name.

Thank you.
