I was working till about a year before leaving the UK, I had 2 young children at the time and was receiving child benefit. I have been working abroad in Canada most of the time I have been away. My husband applied for Class 2 and was accepted as he was working immediately before leaving the UK. Does my husbands status help me being able to pay Class 2 payments and does the fact that I was receiving child benefit help at all.

Hi,

You will need to complete form CF83 and we will assess your eligibility. If you feel you need to provide additional information that we need to be aware of, you can add this to an accompanying letter.

Apply to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions when abroad (CF83)

Thank you.

Hi,
Based on your question. Wecan advise that each individual is dealt with separately regarding the payment of National Insurance contributions and the spouse is not taking into account.
Thank you.
