Called the Nation Insurance helpline 4 weeks ago - I have 2 years (1988/89 and 89/90) where voluntary payments were needed, and were made in full but the years are showing as incomplete on my HMRC NI record. They advised me to send all the evidence to an individual caseworker, which I did. Just followed up to see what is happening, and my letter with evidence of payment etc was received, but I was told that there is a 59 week backlog in cases, so I shouldn't expect to hear anything for over a year! Is this correct? 59 weeks is quite a substantial wait!
