Incorrect Date of Birth

Hello, Recently I have tried to access my Child Trust Fund as every child was entitled to one between September 2002 and sometime in 2011. I have received a letter from HMRC saying that their Child Benefit records do not match my actual birthday meaning that on their record I am older than Sept 2002 and therefore ineligible for the CTF. Has anyone encountered this before? Am I still eligible for the CTF voucher even though it has been a very long time since they stopped the creation of new CTFs? I have had no trouble getting employment etc and I am at a loss of what to do and if it is even possible to sort out. Thanks in advance.
