I am self-employed and in the halfway completing 2022-2023 self assessment. My income for that tax year was higher (above £6,725) that I expect Class 2 NIC is required together with Class 4 NIC, However the system hasn't calculated the Class 2 NIC part but only Class 4, is there any wrong in the elections when registering self-assessment? Any corrections or ways that I can get the Class 2 NIC calculation for me to continue the contribution? Thanks One more question is.... As I will submit split year form for this tax year, can I backdated pay for 6 years of Class 2 NIC?

Hi,

If you have not registered to pay Class 2 it will not show in the calculation.

Self-employed National Insurance rates

When registering for Self Assessment you may have not registered for self employment.

Thank you.
