National Insurance inquiry

My friends have received their national insurance numbers even though they are three months from sixteen and my sixteenth birthday is next month. I was just wondering when I would get it if something went wrong or it just varies in time.

You will need to check that your parent or guardian claimed child benefit for you if not you will need to apply for a National Insurance number online.
You should have received you NI number 3 months prior to your 16th birthday.
