My daughter has changed her forename and would like to update her name associated with her NI number but is unable to register for an account to do this as her old passport (in her previous name) has expired so she cannot prove her identity. We’d be really grateful for some advice as to how to proceed.

Hi Suzanne,
If your daughter could call our National Insurance Helpline on 0300 200 3500 (from the UK) or +44 191 2037010 (from overseas) then they will be able to update her National Insurance account to reflect her name change.  If your daughter would like you to speak on her behalf then she would go through security with us herself and then pass the phone over to you to complete the query.
