Dear Sir/Madam, I have 8 qualifying years on my NI records for the period of self employment during my years in the UK before I moved to Singapore. I have been living in Singapore for 9 years and have been self employed the whole time. I have filled in a CF83 form a few months ago and I received a reply for paying Class 2 NIC to fill the gaps in my NIC records. May I know by paying towards the Class 2 NIC, Will I be getting the qualifying years towards state pension? Thank you

Hi
Generally speaking, Class 2 NICs paid for full years will contribute towards your state pension entitlement. However HMRC cannot give specific information regarding how they will affect your pension. You will need to speak to the International Pension Centre on +44 (0) 191 218 7777.
