UK expat living in USA - voluntary 2 NI contributions

Hi, I'm a UK expat living in the USA. I have been approved to pay voluntary class 2 NICs by annual payment. I understand how to pay but I don't understand WHEN to pay. For example for year 2022/2023 when will that be due? Do I have to wait for it to be shown as a shortfall on my statement? Thank you.

A request for voluntary National Insurance contributions should have been issued to you shortly after 5 April 2023 for the 2022-2023 tax year. The amount of £163.80 for the 2022-2023 tax year should be received by 5 April 2025 or the amount required may be due at a revised increased rate.

For the 2023-2024 tax year, a request for payment will be issued to you shortly after 5 April 2024.
