I found that my pension forecast came under the full pension. I was advised that I could buy back some years to increase it, which I did. I had since, found that I also qualified for some protected years which I applied. The years of full contributions now well exceeds the qualifying years. Am I entitled for a refund of my brought years which it seems may now have been unnecessary?

Hi
We cannot advise if you are due a refund of Class 3 voluntary NICs - our website gives information to help you decide if you want to apply at Voluntary National Insurance
You have to apply for the refund in writing.
If you receive a refund you may not be able to pay for this year again in the future.
You will need to write to us National Insurance Contributions & Employer Office - after the end of the tax year if applicable.
Stating: why you think you are due a refund and the tax year the refund/s are for.
