Hi, On July 17th, I paid to cover the gaps in my NI from Australia by direct transfer from my bank account. The payment I made was for the total quoted to me by a letter from HMRC, which detailed the eligible years and the payment required per year. I haven't received an acknowledgement of receipt of payment, and it hasn't been allocated to the gap years. Is there a current estimate on how long this should take? If there is any problem with the payment, I'd like to sort it out as soon as possible. Kind Regards

Hi geoellsin,
It can take up to 8 weeks from making your payment to it being recorded on your Personal Tax Account but if you would like to make sure that we have received it then please call our National Insurance Helpline on 0300 200 3500 (from the UK) or +44 191 2037010 (from overseas).  Please have your payment details handy when you call just in case they are needed.
Thank you.
