Hi, We have been trying to get an A1 for a 10 year old actor who is working abroad. The overseas production company has requested this. Each time we apply HMRC never process the application, on the telephone we were told that HMRC can only view the applications via the Ni number, being 10 years old she does not have one. I suspose my question is, is it possible to get an A1 for a minor ? Thanks

Hi Stephen,
It is possible to obtain an A1 certificate for a child without a National Insurance number.
If you submitted the application online, you will have received a submission reference number for the application.
You can check if HMRC have received the application by using this reference number when you call.
Thank you.
