I already receive my pension, however, I was told I didnt have enough contributions for a full pension but paid some of the missing years to get a little more. looking at my records now it tells me I have 42 years of full contributions, so why did I have to pay more for some missing years and why do I not get a full pension.

Hi,
Thank you for your enquiry.
We would not be able to advise how many qualifying years an individual requires for a full state pension.
A number of factors would are taken into account. If you do not believe the amount of pension you are due/are in receipt of is incorrect, you would need to speak to the Department of Work and Pensions.
Thank you.
