Hi, I moved from UK to Slovakia, authorities here have requested S040/S041 from UK which I need in order to receive maternity pay. It's been over 2 months and HMRC hasn't provided this yet, I'm due to go on maternity leave in 2 weeks time and at real risk of having no income until the S041 form is provided by UK authorities. I tried to speak to an agent but they weren't able to provide any help over the phone and advised me to write by post which will take a long time. Is there any way I can get progress update on this or anything the Slovakian authorities can do to get a response. I'm really stressed about being left without any income when my baby is born. Thanks

Hi,
These certificates are requested by the authorities from one EU member country to another.
They communicate through a specific mailing system that a generic phone adviser at HMRC can’t see.
Our advisers should be able to refer your case to the International Caseworker Section to speed up the response to the Slovakian authorities if eligible.
However, it may be more beneficial to also check with the Slovakian Authority that requested the certificate from the UK for updates and any progress chase.
Thank you.

Hi, the Slovakian authorities have already requested update and chased from their end, the 60 days to process the request has also passed but still no update or form received from HMRC. Can you advise how can they escalate it further or how can I get the adviser to refer my case to the International Caseworker Section as when I spoke to them, they said they are unable to assist in any capacity. As you can imagine I'm very concerned at this stage. Thank you.

Hi akam,
As you are progress chasing an international certificate requested by a foreign authority through the EESSI/RINA system you will need your enquiry referred to the International Caseworker.
Our advisers on phone can’t access this system and they should therefore be setting up a referral over the phone with you.
Thank you.
