Hi there I retired last year and had a three-year gap, but I voluntarily contributed (class 3) and paid off. However, I am still receiving old wages despite the letter from HMRC stating the salary shall be increased. I wonder if I contact HMRC again, or will the system be updated and my new salary start automatically? Pleased to hear Zatie

Hi Emireli,
Without more details we can’t check your records.
If you have paid and received confirmation that the money has been allocated then DWP usually recalculate the state pension straight away.
We would suggest first checking via your Personal Tax Account ( PTA) or by calling NI helpline that the money paid has been received, allocated and charged to the correct years to make them fully qualifying.
Then please call DWP Pension Service to check the position with the pension award/calculation.
Thank you.
