I am new to this world having set up a limited company recently. I applied over a month ago for PAYE. I now have my PAYE and Accounts office reference but no activation code. If I ask for a new one, it will cancel my original request and put me at the back of the queue again. I urgently need to run payroll but HMRC delays are stopping this happening. Soon I will be fined for not reporting payroll which seems unfair since it is HMRC preventing it from happening. HMRC also owes me money which I want back as I haven't earned anything since I overpaid tax in April through my old employers' PAYE system. Surely this should be an automatic process that doesn't need a queing system. Also the dates on the HMRC website are massively out of whack and misleading (five days for registration acceptance and 7 days for activation code)
