Employer PAYE ref format not accepted even though correct

Hello Team, I'm trying to update my SFE details regarding employment, I have copied over my new employer's PAYE reference from my HMRC account showing employment details, but the form fails to process it with "This PAYE Reference is not in the correct format". The format I have entered is (as shown on the HMRC page): NN / LNN (N-number, L-letter). I see that my previous employer had a PAYE ref as: NNN / LNNNL Any advice what could be the issue? Has my HR entered their PAYE ref incorrectly when reporting my employment or have there been some changes to reference number formats?

If your paye reference is for example 38/A123 you need to put a 0 at the start so 038/A123 . Thank you .
