CEST Status Undetermined - Honorarium Payment

Our University department is inviting three academics from other UK institutions to a conference (also in the UK) for a one-off event where they will be guest speakers. We would like to pay them a University-initiated payment / honorarium of £250 each as a thank you for their participation. The CEST tool returned an undetermined status for self-employment, but as they will not be holding office, won't be given any employer benefits etc., please can you confirm how this should be treated?
