In September my employer changed from 4 weekly pay to Monthly pay. This week i was informed that there had been an error with payroll on the first monthly pay and that i have underpaid PAYE by £193 My government gateway shows i have paid the correct PAYE up to date and my payslips match everything and i have checked with the HMRC calculator and all my payments are correct. It seems my employer payroll submitted FPS twice. My employer is now telling me i have to take a loan to pay the underpaid tax as they have to pay it by tomorrow 26/01/2023. I am questioning the legality of them making me take a loan as this is an error that isnt my fault and i cannot see anywhere on HMRC where i owe tax. They are alos telling me they will take the full amount of the loan out of my next salary as i am leaving the company. I dont think this is correct
