Hi I am a new member here looking for help, like majority of others! I'm just confused as ive signed in and my tax code has changed to 61LX I do have a company car which maybe why its changed however is this emergency tax or is this a normal code for a company car user? etc i simply cannot afford to be emergency taxed this month due to bills etc. I will be in financial difficulty is it too late?

An emergency tax code means you're being taxed at a higher rate because your employer doesn't have your correct tax details. It often results in higher deductions until your correct tax code is applied.

Hi Stephen,
We are unable to check personal records through the forum. Company car values differ depending on the car you have.
You can check your tax code using the following link:

You can also contact our Income Tax team, using methods on the following link if you wish to discuss the make up of your tax code:

Thank you.
