Tax Band on PSA calculation

Hi team Hopefully this is a general question and easy to answer. For PSA calculation to be grossed up by tax band, what is the HMRC guide line for the employer to determine which tax band for individuals? Is it taxable earnings or P60 figures in this employment? Or simply their basic salaries without annual bonus, overtime etc. Thank you Kind Regards
