Ending employee on Basic tools ad obtaining p45

Struggling to end an employee on basic tools. Won't allow me to add a cessation date. Need paye to remain open for sub contacting but I can't seem to find how to end the employee on BT to complete this aspect. Anyone help? I've send a final payment for tax year but it doesn't allow me to populate an employee cessation date
