Hi, I made a donation to Charity and opted for Gift Aid in the form while doing so. I see that they collected only general info about my correspondence address. In the self-assessment, I could add the amount that I paid to charity. However, how is this amount that I mention in the self-assessment verified as legitimate? Do I need to inform HMRC separately about it?

Hi dijeah,
You only need to state in the Self Assessment the donation.
If we require any further information you will receive a letter.
If you have any evidence of the donation you should keep this as we may request it.
Thank you.
