I completed a self assessment in June to notify the HMRC that I would be leaving the UK. I receieved an email last week advising that I am due a refund and that a cheque would be sent in the coming days. Where has the refund cheque been sent as I noted on the HMRC website that cheques are only sent within the UK and the address on my profile is not within the UK. Can a copy of the cheque be emailed on request? Is it possible to change the refund to a bank deposit (into my UK account)?
