If a UK pension is taken as a lump sum or part lump sums, the pensioner lives inPortugal and is tax resident there ( agreement in place with UK of course) and does not need to pay tax in the UK. How do you stop the pension providers from taxing the monies at source? is there a form to fill?

Hi gail lithgow,
You would need to submit a claim for relief under double taxation exemption.
Please see:
Double Taxation: Treaty Relief (Form DT-Individual)
Thank you.
