Hello, I got married in 2021. In 2023, I got a new passport where on the main photo page it states my name as [First name] [Husband's Surname]-[Maiden Name] (double barreled). However, because I still use my maiden name for professional purposes, my original name is listed as a valid name under official observations (the official observations page on my passport says 'this holder is also known as [First Name] [Maiden Name]). My other identity documents e.g. driving license still use my original name. I have realised some of my payslips were issued in just my maiden name, and some with the double barrelled name. I am unsure if I need to update HMRC of both names, and if there is a way to do this? I have tried to ensure my employers only use my original name as per my preference, but have realised recently they have not always done this. Thanks for your help

Dear Admin, Thanks for your help. If the current name on my HMRC account (Firstname MaidenName) is the one I want to use, do I need to update you about the other name or is it fine as it is?
