My father lives overseas and he is being cared for in a care home. He can no longer look after his own finances and I have been appointed as his social security benefits appointee. His benefit money would come into my bank account overseas and goes out to pay his care home fees on a regular basis. The bank account is solely for this purpose. Do I need to declare this money coming into my account as my income or this is exempted? Thank you

Hi,

No, you dont need to declare the actual benefits that are paid in. However, if any interest is generated in the account, you need to declare this.

Thank you.
