Hi, I am just completing the self assessment tax return , I am semi retired so my profit once expenses taken off will be around £6000 , my question is I have a small private pension , which I see I have to put in , do I get taxed on that if I am still under the personal allowance as my private pension is approx £100 per month ? Also I part paid in to my pension that year as well before taking a lump sum and monthly pension does the lump sum need to go in as well as the part payments I was making for 8months of the year thanks

Hi,
If you are receiving a monthly pension then this will need to be declared on your Self Assessment tax return. If you total income is less then your personal allowance £12570 then you will not pay tax. If the lump sum was taxable then it would be declared if non taxable then not declared.
Thank you.
