US Dividends

Hi This is the first year my US dividends are over the threshold (£500) this year. Can I just add this online using the additional income as Stock Dividends as its circa £1500 and £230 tax. Does this take account of the double Tax (Tax relief) or do I have to now submit a self assessment. Thanks
